The Life of a Seed
April 18, 2020
Read Galatians 6:7-8
Scriptures tell us clearly that whatever we decide to plant in our minds and hearts will be what we produce. Our attitudes and actions are predetermined by the kinds of seeds we put into our fertile ground.
What kids of seeds do you feel like you have been planting over these last few weeks? Does your actions, attitudes and relationships reflect the kind of crop that you are wanting to produce?
Read Matthew Chapter 4
In these scriptures Jesus goes through a very vulnerable time in his life. After a long time of isolation and fasting he is confronted and tempted by Satan. Satan tries to convince Jesus to plant a different kinds of seed in essence than what he knew his father desires and required.
There were three different temptation seeds as you review the scriptures how would you categorize each one?
Example:
1. vs. 3 – Stone to bread – Seed of self gratification
2. vs. 5 – High point challenge – Seed of __________
3. vs. 8-9 – Gift if worshiped – Seed of ___________
Instead of accepting and planting Satans seeds Jesus refutes and firmly plants a different seed. How was he able to do that? What seeds does he plant instead?
1. vs. – 4 Seed of __________
2. vs. – 7 Seed of __________
3. vs. – 10 Seed of __________
What are some scriptures that can help you firmly plant new seed in your life this week?
